1. What information do we collect from and about you?

Personal data generally means information that identifies you as an individual, and any other information we associate with it. Depending on how you interact with the website, we may collect, use, store and share different kinds of personal data. 7. Data security and international transfers

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed to unauthorized persons. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. If we transfer your personal data to a different country, we will comply with applicable transfer requirements to ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by implementing relevant safeguards. If you are located in the EEA, any transfer of your data outside the EEA will be based on the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, Binding Corporate Rules or other valid legal basis for such transfer.

8. How long will we keep your personal data?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. We will only keep your personal data for as long as it is reasonably necessary, taking into consideration our need to answer queries or resolve problems, provide improved and new products and services and comply with legal requirements under applicable law(s). After this period, your personal data will be deleted from all systems in Chr. Hansen.

9. Disclosure of your personal data

Sometimes we may share your personal data with service providers and other third parties. We, our parent company, and other Chr. Hansen affiliates may share your personal data with each other for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy. We may also share your personal data with third parties that perform services on our behalf, including website hosting, database and server maintenance and security, data analytics, email delivery, and marketing assistance, and with advertising partners. We do not allow our service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions. We may also disclose your personal data (1) to safeguard our website, intellectual property, users, or the rights of third parties, (2) to investigate violations of the website Terms of Use, (3) as required or permitted by law or in response to a court order or legal request, (4) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, or (5) with your consent.

Please note that we may need to retain certain personal data for recordkeeping purposes and/or to complete any transactions that you began prior to requesting a change or deletion. Depending on where you reside, you may have the following additional rights:

• Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”).
• Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you.
• Request erasure of your personal data. In some circumstances you can ask us to delete your data. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your erasure request and if that is the case, we will notify you of the specific legal reasons for our inability comply at the time of your request.
• Object to processing of your personal data (for example, where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground as you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedoms). You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes. In some cases, we may demonstrate that we have compelling legitimate grounds to process your information which override your rights and freedoms.
• Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.

11. Changes to our Privacy Policy

We keep our Privacy Policy under regular review. If we revise this Privacy Policy, we will nortfy you by, at a minimum, posting an updated Privacy Policy on this webpage.

Privacy Information for California Residents

This Appendix applies solely to individuals who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”). The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) provides California residents with certain rights with regard to their personal information. For purposes of this Appendix, personal information means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household.

To ensure we can tailor our advertisements, however, we do allow advertising partners to use cookies, pixels and other technologies to collect Technical Data and Usage Data about users on our website, and this may constitute a “sale” of personal information under CCPA. 4. Additional Rights and Choices

The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their personal information, described below. Below are your CCPA rights and how to exercise those rights.

• Access to Specific Information and Data Portability Rights (“Right to Know”). You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months. You may request:
• The categories of personal information we collected about you;
• The categories of sources of the personal information we collected about you;
• Our business or commercial purpose for collecting that personal information;
• The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information; and
• The categories of third parties with whom we share that personal information; and
• The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
• Deletion Request Rights. You have the right to request that we delete some or all of the personal information that we have collected from you and retained, subject to a number of exceptions. We are not required to delete personal information that is: (a) necessary to complete a transaction with you or for warranty or product recalls; (b) used for security purposes, to prevent fraud, to fix errors, or to comply with law; (c) reasonable for us to use for internal purposes given our relationship with you; or (d) compatible with the context in which you provided the information. The list of exceptions above is not exhaustive and we may also deny a deletion request as otherwise permitted by law.
• Exercising Your Rights. To exercise your rights described above, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us by:

Only you, or a person or entity that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. If you are making a request on behalf of another person, you must provide written legal documentation that you are authorized to act on behalf of that individual. You may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must:

• Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative; and
• Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

We may not be able to fulfill your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. To verify your identity, we may request up to up to three pieces of personal information about you, and we reserve the right to take additional steps as necessary to verify your identity if we have reason to believe a request is fraudulent.

• Response Timing and Format. We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt. If we require more time, and as permitted by applicable law, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option.

Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the date we receive your verifiable consumer request. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

• Non-Discrimination. You have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:
• Deny you goods or services;
• Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties;
• Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services; or;
• Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
